On September 18-20, Ferrari North America will provide spectators of their Ferrari Challenge racing series with an opportunity to experience a Ferrari racing adventure, otherwise known as a "hot lap." For a minimum donation of $100 to After-School All-Stars (ASAS), a national nonprofit that provides after-school programs to middle school youth, spectators can ride as a passenger in one of the racing Ferraris while a professional driver speeds around the New Jersey Motorsports Park track at more than 100 miles per hour.
The Ferrari Challenge is a racing series designed to allow Ferrari owners to compete with one another on some of the world’s greatest racing tracks. The New Jersey Motorsports Park is the last track in this six-race series and will also be the last opportunity for spectators to purchase hot laps until next season. Information on event ticketing is available on the New Jersey Motorsports Park website www.njmotorsportspark.com.
Ferrari North America has been a partner with ASAS since the 2008 unveiling of their latest addition, the California. Through a launch party and auction sale, ASAS was the beneficiary of proceeds from the sale of the very first California. Today, ASAS participates at all six races of the Ferrari Challenge series, collaborating with Ferrari North America to provide hot laps and other support opportunities to both spectators and drivers (www.ferrarichallenge.com). To-date, nearly $10,000 has been raised from the last two Ferrari Challenge events alone.
"Ferrari North America is an amazing partner," said Ben Paul, President and CEO of After-School All-Stars. "As an aspirational brand, Ferrari builds a quality product that people dream about from childhood. This aligns perfectly with ASAS, as we are in the business of inspiring and encouraging low-income children to defy the status quo in their neighborhoods and aspire to have successful lives."
